Description:Tropical activity was light during the 2001 season. Although the season was off to the quickest start in history with the first named tropical cyclone ever in June, there were only four total tropical cyclones, and two of them were short-lived. Tropical Storm Barbara in the East Pacific moved into Central Pacific waters June 22, but rapidly dissipated. Only two advisories were issued by the Central Pacific Hurricane Center (CPHC) on T.S. Barbara. Tropical Depression One-C developed September 11, but only lasted for twelve hours before dissipating.
