Description:This book is a general one that covers many activities in the U.S. fishing industry. The theme is primarily a discussion of past, present, and anticipated trends. Before dealing with these trends, we felt that some perspective was needed. Introductory background chapters outline the different types of work that arc handled by fishery specialists, and tell why each discipline is so important in the fishery picture, how the discipline developed, and what its present status is.
