Description:A test to compare the activity and performance of 60 satellite-tracked, free drifting buoys was put into operation in the eastern tropical Pacific Ocean during the June 1, 1985-June 30, 1987 period. Of the total number of buoys, 56 were designed and built at NOAA/AOML (Bitterman and Hansen, 1986), two were made by Technocean, and two others were FGGE design constructed by the Polar Research Laboratory, Inc. The details of their trajectories and histories are presented and discussed in this data report.
