Description:A cooperative program for determining the comparability of laboratory salinity measurements was conducted by the U.S. and USSR. This intercomparison involved the exchange and joint measurements of secondary standard seawater samples at 12 nominal salinities ranging from 5 to 40 parts per 1,000. Described are the secondary seawater standards preparation, measurement results, and conclusions.
