Description:The NOAA Ship Oscar Elton Sette (OES) was engaged as support for the, NOAA Pacific Island Fisheries Science Center (PIFSC) Coral Reef Ecosystem Division (CRED) marine debris project of the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). The ship supported in-water and shoreline marine debris surveys and removal operations at Maro Reef, Lisianski Island, Pearl and Hermes Atoll, and Midway Atoll. The marine debris (primarily derelict fishing gear) collected during survey and removal operations was stored onboard until the vessel returned to Ford Island, Pearl Harbor.
