Description:The objectives of the first study were to: 1. Measure the effectiveness of recommended control measures and their ecological impacts under conditions typical to Maryland. 2. Determine ecological uses of monotypic Phragmites stands. 3. Identify the factors influencing the recruitment in treated areas by species other than Phragmites. 4. Develop a predictive indicator for rates of vegetative recruitment following herbicide applications. 5. Provide recommendations for site evaluation in the establishment of Phragmites control programs in moist uplands and non-tidal wetlands."--Leaves 3-4.
