"VMSM conducted 58 research cruises in the Virginia Beach study area in 1996. Approximately 100 dilphin groups were encountered and photographed. We counted 1501 dolphins during the 1996 season... Results of the 1996 photo-identification are still being analyzed and entered into a newly developed database... Comparing photographs with other research groups resulted in matches between VMSM and Cape Charles, VMSM and NCMM, NCMM and Cape Charles, and NCMM and Wilmington..."--leaf 9.
