"The intent of this assessment of marinas on the Mississippi Gulf Coast is threefold: first, to characterize the present supply of marina facilities and services and to examine selected characteristics of boat owners; second, to project growth patterns for recreational (pleasure) boats and consequent berthing facility demand; and third, to provide an overview of environmental impacts and impact mitigation associated with marina construction and use."--p.1.
