Description:The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is entering into a co-management agreement with the Cook Inlet Marine Mammal Council (CIMMC) for the year 2000. The co-management agreement specifies the conditions, and the number of strikes allowed, under which a subsistence harvest on Cook Inlet (CI) beluga whales could be undertaken during the year 2000. The agreement specifies a harvest level of one (1) whale strike during 2000.
