Description:This study was designed to establish the area of inlet influence based upon surficial sediment grain-size distribution patterns representing summer and winter climatic conditions. To establish the area of inlet influence the graphic depictions of alongshore and cross-shore grain-size data were visually inspected. A significant shift in the relative abundance of the grain-size data in the proximity of the inlet was interpeted to be a consequence of the inlet effect. The alongshore distance to this shift was then assumed to be the limits of the inlet effect.
