Description:"The Nonindigenous Aquatic Nuisance Species Prevention and Control Act (NANPCA), passed by Congress in 1990, allows for the creation of regional panels to establish regional priorities and develop action plans for dealing with invasive species. The first few sections of this report analyze the structure and activities of the Great Lakes, the Western Regional, and the Northeast Regional Panels. The structure and activities of the Gulf of Mexico Regional Panel are then examined. The authors suggest future actions the Gulf panel should take to most effectively support interstate cooperation and assist the states with the development and implementation of regional plans"--National Sea Grant Library publication website.
