Description:"The report is a joint effort by two agencies, the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) and the National Hurricane Center (NHC). The narrative portion of the report was derived from the Preliminary Hurricane Reports prepared by several research meteorologist at NHC, and the satellite imagery were provided by the NCDC. This report is considered to be preliminary with the intention to provide a brief synopsis of each named tropical system along with one or more satellite images of each storm take by either the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) or the Polar Orbital Environmental Satellite (POES). Full resolution satellite data and complete preliminary hurricane reports for each storm may be obtained from the National Climatic Data Center"--Introduction.
