Description:The Techniques Development Laboratory three-dimensional trajectory model was updated in June 1971 to include the effects of air-sea interactions. Output from the model is currently transmitted via facsimile for use as guidance in severe storm forecasting. Past verification statistics for the model have shown a marked tendency to under-forecast surface temperature and dew point along coastal areas during the cold seasons.
