Description:"Regulatory Amendment 22 was developed to revise the annual catch limits (ACL) and optimum yield for gag and wreckfish, based on recent stock assessments for these two species. The South Atlantic Fishery Management Council's (Council) Scientific and Statistical Committee recommended acceptable biological catch values and the Council determined ACLs to ensure overfishing does not occur. The amendment was approved for Secretarial review by the Council at their December 2014 meeting"--Cover letter summary.
