Description:"The seventh comprehensive bottom trawl survey of the Aleutian Islands and southern Bering Sea region was completed during the summer of 2000 by the Resource Assessment and Conservation Engineering (RACE) Division of the Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSC), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). The groundfish surveys are designed to describe and monitor the distribution, abundance, and biological condition of the important groundfish stocks in the Aleutian Islands area. Previous surveys in this series were conducted in 1980, 1983, 1986, 1991, 1994, and 1997. The purpose of this report is to provide pertinent catch information from the survey to the fishing industry"--Introduction.
