Description:This booklet contains summaries of 1990 domestic and joint venture groundfish catches taken in the Bering Sea-Aleutian Islands region, the Gulf of Alaska region, and Washington-Oregon-California (WOC) region (Figures !, 2 and 3). Domestic catch estimates are based on processor reports submitted on a weekly basis to the Regional Office in Juneau. Joint venture catch estimates are produced by the U.S. Observer Program and consist of a blend of vessel reports and observer data within week-nation-area-vessel class data cells. Observer data were used when coverage within a data cell was as least 20%; vessel reports were used when coverage was less than 20%. A further qualification is that if the observed estimate of a species was within 10% of the vessel; report, the vessel report was used.
