Final technical report for a project designed to strengthen linkages between marine protected areas and conservation staff and those supporting formation of new MPAs in the Dominican Republic. The project was intended to encourage established MPAs and those in the process of being formed to use a more participatory multi-stakeholder and community-based approach, building support among fishing communities and tourism sectors for no-take MPAs and for reducing land-based and user-based threats to reefs. This report is a product of the NOAA Coral Reef Conservation Program, International Coral Grants Program. Project ID: 1395-06. Principal Investigator: Eileen Alicea.
