Description:"Multibeam survey information done in the Battle of the Atlantic area has the potential to help establish new boundaries for existing or newly established areas to manage submerged cultural resources within the United States Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). To date little effort has been expended in the study of the Wilmington and Baltimore canyons. These canyons are in close proximity to major northeastern cities, and potentially may have profound effects on natural resources. Mapping these canyon heads will provide the basis for further understanding of their features and processes with respect to consideration for designation as essential fish habitats (EFH)"--Abstract (ISO 19115-2 metadata).
