Description:In 2024, NOAA's Climate Program Office and Weather Program Office launched the Extreme Heat Social Science Community of Practice (CoP) to strengthen coordination, identify research priorities, and establish a community of researchers and practitioners with shared interests. This cross-NOAA effort was created under the NOAA Social Science Committee to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners to exchange insights, share tools, and guide future research on extreme heat and its societal impacts.
