  Alaska harvests the largest amount of fish among all U.S. states. Yet, a formal study of the economic contribution of the Alaska fisheries based on a rigorous economic model is lacking. The present study is the first to quantify the economic contribution of fisheries to Alaska and other U.S. regions using a 10-region multi-regional social accounting matrix (10MRSAM) model.
