Description:

Research spanning the convective seasons from 2021 to 2024 across the Eastern Region’s (ER) 23 CWAs suggests that the CR 4-Panel technique’s categories may also be applicable to ER. When using the CR 4-Panel technique without adjusting the original thresholds, ER offices are likely to see improved lead times when issuing Base Flash Flood Warnings (FFWs).
