Description:An age-structured Leslie matrix model previously developed for the US population of smalltooth sawfish, Pristis pectinata, was updated to determine their ability to recover under new scenarios of bycatch from the US southeast shrimp trawl fishery. Additionally, the model considered a large-scale mortality event in 2024, which killed many large juveniles and adults.
