Description:To maximize involvement from academia, including K-12 students and undergraduate and graduate students, there is an increasing need to ease the entry into the UFS. Former NOAA Administrator and UFS Chief Science Advisor, Neil Jacobs, highlighted the lack of access, coordination, and resources that are needed to have the various sectors within the NWP community work together. To minimize the gap between the UFS and academia, it is important for student needs and perspectives to be accounted for.
