Presented here are the 1970 monthly and yearly Brier scores for the Albany SAM (Sub-synoptic Advection Model) and station forecasts valid for the first period (today) and issued to the public near 5 A.M., and also the first period (tonight) in the forecast issued near 5 P.M. The results for these two first-period forecasts combined are also presented. The relative frequency of occurrence of precipitation by forecast class for the SAM and station PoP forecasts are presented for the period May 1969 through December 1970,
