Description:Scientific Services has previously presented to field stations a technique for using primitive equation (PE) model output to forecast precipitation in the winter. The scatter diagram method used in this earlier study is described in reference (1) to which the reader is referred for more information. Verification results using this past winter as independent data indicate that the method produces useful guidance (2). Procedures similar to those used for the winter were used to arrive at results presented here for summertime use.
