Description:

Output from the LFM model has been available on NAFAX since September 1971. Even though it is a PE type model, early observations indicate that it behaves quite differently than the operational PE model. Experience in this new model must be built up before forecasters can be expected to have faith in its output. As a start toward doing this, we, in ERH, have been observing carefully the LFM output, noting its strength and weakness, and trying to find helpful and different uses for this new guidance.
