Description:

The satellite pictures reproduced in this attachment were provided by WSFO Columbia, S.C., where they were very helpful this past week in alerting weather service personnel to a serious weather situation. The pictures show two weather-producing systems merging. As the systems merged, a damaging tornado was reported at 0635 GMT May 18 at Summerville, S.C.
