Description:Zone forecasts prepared by WSFO Albany at 0900Z November 10, 1976, and released at 0930Z, called for mostly cloudy conditions, оссаsional light snow likely, with little or no accumulation. During the next two and one-half hours these forecasts would be correctly changed to indicate that much of the WSFO Albany area of forecast responsibility would soon be getting one-to-three inch accumulation in an early season snow, and the snow would end by afternoon. Enhanced IR satellite pictures provided the information that enabled the forecast office to quickly and correctly revise the earlier forecast.
