Description:When we issue a "watch" for a hazardous weather event, we are, in effect, making two statements: 1. A potential exists for hazardous weather, and 2. Our forecast accuracy for this event is far from perfect . If our accuracy were closer to perfect, the term "watch" would be replaced by another term that implied a definite forecast of the event - possibly "warning".
