Description:We are pleased to have permission to share with you the following interesting letter written by Mr. Zimmerman in response to a recent Technical Attachment. Of special interest to us was his distinction between assigned and personal responsibility, and its effect on the quality of weather service given to users. Keep in mind the following remarks were made by a recently retired NWS meteorologist whose progressive career included being a forecaster in a WSO, the agricultural meteorologist for Oregon, a Regional Office staff manager and the MIC at Seattle WSFO.
