Description:In Spring 1978, the Techniques Develeopment Lab introduced a new forecast element in the early FOUS12 bulletin--3-hourly temperature forecasts (for details see Technical Procedures Bulletins No. 238 and 247). This guidance was designed to provide the forecaster with information on the diurnaltemperature trend and should be especially useful when max and min temperatures do not occur at the usual time of the day. This was demonstrated in the early FOUS12 bulletin, 11/14/78, 0000Z.
