Description:This synthesis report serves as a living document, developed through a collaboration between DRI and the National Integrated Health Information System (NIHHIS), to examine local-scale impacts of heat on health. The author’s intent is to: 1. Collect and present reference resources for heat-health research and coordination in Clark County, NV (the greater Las Vegas Valley), while establishing context for the key-issues, impacts and outcomes. 2. Identify ongoing or planned institutional heat-response strategies and actions. 3. Highlight policies and areas of practice needed for an effective heat-response strategy. This document identifies heat mitigation opportunities for regional decision makers, and accordingly should be updated regularly to reflect progress and investments aimed at reducing heat-related health impacts to those in Southern Nevada.
