Description:The National Weather Service Forecast Office at PIT routinely analyzes over twelve sectional mesoscale surface and upper air charts daily. During threatening weather additional mesoscale charts and special programs are run on AFOS. Routine operational mesoanalysis can enhance the meteorologist's understanding and thus aid in short term forecast improvement. In this case study, all charts were accomplished in a real-time frame with actions taken related to the refined data at hand.
