Description:Heavy seas, breaking surf, and coastal flooding are problems that coastal WSFO's have always had to face. Recent changes in the WSOM now require these problems to be addressed in more detail. Spectral wave data and the Spectral Wave Data Analysis software (WVDATA) available on AFOS, are some of the best sources available to understand the sea state affecting the coastal areas.
