Description:On June 7th 1988, the severe weather checklist, used at WSFO Philadelphia, did an excellent job of delineating the severe weather threat areas for that day. The severe weather potential statement issued by WSFO Philadelphia at 11AM isolated the lower Susquehanna zone as the only one in our forecast area with the potential for severe weather. In addition, mesoscale analysis done during the afternoon of June 7th, showed the dramatic effect a super cell could have on the various analysis fields produced by the southern region MESOS program.
