Description:An interactive computer program called WIND which incorporates several of the items described by Lefebvre, was developed at WSFO Cleveland in the summer of 1988. Since then, Cleveland has been using the program operationally to supplement the GLW guidance for Lake Erie. This paper will describe the WIND program and discuss the results of a verification study of both WIND and GLW. This study is intended primarily for the use of operational marine forecasters on the Great Lakes, particularly those with Lake Erie responsibilities.
