Description:Two cases are presented to demonstrate uses of the profiler data. In the first case profiler data are "BLENDED" with the existing upper air network during a synoptic scale winter weather event. Next, a case is reviewed to examine how profilers can aid in detecting features on a smaller scale than the existing upper air network. In addition, baroclinic zones, jet streaks, and short wave troughs are identified as they move from the west-southwest toward the east-northeast.
