Description:This study measures the reliability of the NGM and LFM FOUS QPF guidance for Cleveland (CLE) and Dayton (DAY) during the 1988-89 and 1989-90 cool seasons as a indicator of measurable precipitation. The study verifies the occurrence of measurable precipitation (2.01 inches) for several categories of FOUS QPF. The results will provide Cleveland forecasters with another tool for use in deciding whether to raise or lower the Probability of Precipitation (POP) for a given forecast period.
