Description:The Council is proposing to amend (where appropriate) the fishery management plans for Shrimp, Red Drum, Snapper Grouper, Coastal Migratory Pelagics, Golden Crab, Spiny Lobster, and Coral, Coral Reefs, and Live/Hard Bonam Habitats to: (I) Address the consistency with SFA Section 102 definitions, (2) Address bycatch management measures and bycatch reporting requirements to insure consistency with SFA Section 108 required provisions, (3) Address descriptions of each sector and quantify trends in landings and data specified for each sector for the commercial. recreational and charter fisheries to insure consistency with SFA Section 108 required provisions, ( 4) Address fishery impact statements to insure they incorporate the likely effects of management measures on fishing communities and (5) Address overfishing provisions specifying objective and measurable criteria for identifying whether a fishery is overfished, measures to rebuild overfished stocks and reductions in fishing mortality and fair allocation among harvesters, to insure consistency with SFA Section 108 required provisions.
