Description:This project will evaluate how the type and frequency of aircraft hurricane observations affect the overall precision and accuracy of a forecast, as well as how these changes translate into direct benefits to society. More importantly, this project will propose and formalize a methodology to conduct benefit-cost assessments that can be used for additional forecasting observation systems as well as the implementation and transition to new observational technologies.
