Description:The Standardized Bycatch Reporting Methodology (SBRM) Omnibus Amendment to the fishery management plans (FMPs) of the Greater Atlantic Region was implemented in February 2008 to address the requirements of the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act to include standardized bycatch reporting methodology in all FMPs of the New England Fishery Management Council (NEFMC) and Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council (MAFMC). In response to a remand by the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia concerning observer coverage specified by the original SBRM, an Omnibus Amendment revised the SBRM in 2015.
