Description:"Around 0600 UTC (0200 EDT) on 24 August 1996, a sub-severe thunderstorm complex was moving east-northeast across southern Indiana and northern Kentucky. At the same time, an area of showers was dropping southeastward across northern Indiana and Ohio. By 0700 UTC, the stronger storms associated with these systems had merged, causing an overall intensification of the resultant convective system. One storm in particular became severe, producing damaging winds across a relatively localized area in southwestern Oh."--Introduction.
