Description:This Final Restoration Plan/Environmental Assessment (Final RP/EA) was developed by the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ), the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of the U.S. Department of Commerce, and the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) acting on behalf of the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) (collectively, “the Trustees”1 ) to address natural resources (including ecological services) injured, lost, or destroyed due to releases of hazardous substances into Bayou d’Inde2 . This Final RP/EA is part of the Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA) process being performed by the Trustees and is intended to inform the public about those injuries and restoration alternatives the Trustees considered to restore what was lost. This Final RP/EA also serves as an Environmental Assessment under the National Environmental Policy Act, evaluating the reasonably foreseeable impacts of the preferred restoration actions on the quality of the physical, biological, and cultural environment in the Calcasieu River basin.
