Description:The NOAA Ship Oregon II departed Pascagoula, MS on 7 February 2008 to initiate the Southeast Area Monitoring and Assessment Program (SEAMAP) Winter Plankton Survey in the northern Gulf of Mexico. The SEAMAP Program is a cooperative State/Federal/University program designed to collect biological and environmental data from waters of the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.
