Description:The NOAA Strategic Plan represents a significant effort directed at redefining NOAA in the 21st century. It is the result of a critical examination of NOAA's current statutory and program responsibilities, looked at in the light of the significant environmental problems and issues facing our Nation. The Plan sets forth a vision of a world in which societal and economic decisions will be strongly coupled with an increasingly comprehensive understanding of the environment; and identifies NOAA' s special responsibility toward the accomplishment of that goal.
