Description:The Salmon Technical Team has prepared this postseason review of the 1997 ocean salmon fisheries off the coasts of Washington, Oregon and California in accordance with Section 11.0 of the Pacific Coast Salmon Plan as revised in 1996. This report provides a portion of the information required by Section 602.12(e) of the guidelines for regional council fishery management plans. The salmon team will provide the remaining information to assist the Council in its development of management recommendations in three preseason reports for 1998. These reports will provide estimates of stock abundance and analyze the impacts of the Council's proposed and adopted management recommendations.
