Description:On-demand fishing systems, also known as “ropeless” systems, utilize significantly less persistent rope in the water column than conventional gear designs. While traditional fixed-gear fishing methods use a persistent vertical rope to tether bottom gear to a surface-mounted buoy for location identification and retrieval, on-demand fishing systems do not require this persistent gear-to-buoy tether.
