Description:In 1973, the National Marine Fisheries Service initiated evaluation studies of the fingerling bypass at John Day Dam. The evaluation had the following objectives: (1) define the relative passage efficiency of the bypass system as designed, (2) determine the condition of fish that have passed through the system, and (3) develop ways of improving fingerling passage in the event that the system was found to be deficient.
