Description:This booklet contains summaries of the provisional 1984 foreign groundfish catches as estimated by the U.S. Foreign Fisheries Observer Program. The U.S. catch estimates consist of a blend of the estimates derived from observer data in those week-nation-area-vessel class data cells with observer coverage of 20 percent or greater and the foreign reported catches for those data cells with observer coverage less than 20 percent. A further qualification is that if the estimate based on observer data is within 10 percent of the foreign reported catch for the data cell, the foreign reported catch is used.
