Description:In April 1971, a meeting was held at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, where biologists and administrators of commercial fishery programs in a number of Western states had the opportunity to meet, exchange ideas and compare research and development programs, plans and results. So successful was this meeting that a second was held in Seattle March 1lj.-l6, 1972, and was titled "Inland Fishing Gear Workshop." The program was directed toward helping the inland states become acquainted with new developments in gear and harvesting methods. The proceedings which follow contain a condensed version of the minutes of the first meeting in Laramie, and summaries of the activities which took place at the Inland Fishing Gear Workshop.
